Acceptable Use Policy

This policy explains what you may and may not do with AltVoice and its voice cloning features.

Last updated September 15, 2026 · Version 2026-09-15.3

Allowed use

You may use AltVoice for narration, accessibility, prototyping, dubbing, content creation, education, customer support, and other lawful use cases where you have the necessary rights to the text and output, using your own recorded voice, a library preset, or a designed voice.

Only your own voice

Voice cloning is limited to your own voice recorded live with your microphone. You may not play back, route, stream, or imitate another person's voice into the microphone, use a virtual audio device to present a file as a live recording, or otherwise present a voice that is not yours as your own. This applies to public figures, clients, employees, family members, and anyone else.

Impersonation and deception

You may not use AltVoice to impersonate another person, mislead listeners about who is speaking, or create fake endorsements, scams, political deception, or fraudulent recordings, whether with a cloned, preset, or designed voice.

Synthetic-media disclosure and provenance

You may not conceal the synthetic origin of audio where disclosure is required by law or platform rules, or where omission could mislead a reasonable listener into believing that a real person made, approved, or endorsed the statement. You may not remove, alter, or obscure metadata or other provenance markers that AltVoice adds to generated audio.

High-risk and regulated uses

You may not use generated voices for identity authentication, emergency instructions, medical diagnosis or treatment, financial or legal advice, debt collection, deceptive political communications, election interference, law-enforcement impersonation, biometric categorization, or decisions about employment, housing, education, credit, insurance, healthcare, or access to essential services.

Harassment and harmful content

You may not create audio intended to threaten, harass, extort, bully, defame, or exploit another person. Hate speech, glorification of violence, and non-consensual sexual content are prohibited. You may not sexualize, exploit, groom, or impersonate a minor.

Models, output, and automated access

You may not use the service or its output to develop, train, fine-tune, benchmark, or improve a competing voice, speech, or audio model, or attempt to extract model weights, embeddings, training data, or system prompts. You may not access the service with scripts, bots, or bulk requests except through an interface we designate for that purpose, and you may not resell, share, or pool access or minutes across unrelated accounts.

Fair use of unlimited features

Features described as unlimited have no fixed monthly cap but are intended for ordinary individual or small-team use in a shared queue. We may rate-limit, throttle, deprioritize, or restrict usage that is automated, resold, or materially exceeds that pattern.

Platform abuse

You may not probe, scrape, overload, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the service, nor attempt to bypass quotas, account restrictions, moderation, the microphone-only recording rule, or other technical safeguards. Creating multiple accounts to obtain repeated free allowances or to evade a restriction is prohibited.

Legal and sanctions compliance

You may not use AltVoice in violation of export controls, sanctions, anti-fraud laws, privacy laws, biometric rules, publicity rights, or sector-specific obligations applicable to your business or content.

Reports, evidence, and appeals

You may not knowingly submit false rights claims, impersonate a speaker or representative, forge consent records, fabricate evidence, or use coordinated reports to disrupt another user or the service. These restrictions do not limit good-faith reports, appeals, or the lawful exercise of rights. We reserve the right to seek remedies available under applicable law for deliberate fraud, falsified evidence, or other unlawful abuse of the reporting process.

Responsibility for misuse

You are responsible for how you use and distribute generated audio, including outside AltVoice. Using a paid plan, passing an automated check, or obtaining a successful generation is not permission to use another person's identity and is not an endorsement of your content. The Terms of Service explain the liability limits and your responsibility for claims caused by unauthorized or unlawful use.

Enforcement

We may remove content, block requests, suspend accounts, or preserve logs for investigation when we detect behavior that violates this policy or puts users, third parties, or the platform at risk. We may act without advance notice for urgent harm, preserve evidence, and report conduct where law requires it.
