Commercial License

This page explains when generated audio may be used commercially and what responsibilities remain with you. It is part of the Terms of Service.

Last updated September 15, 2026

1. Output use

Subject to the Terms of Service, the Acceptable Use Policy, and applicable law, you may use audio generated by AltVoice in videos, ads, demos, podcasts, games, training material, client work, and other lawful personal and commercial projects. This applies to every plan, including the free plan, unless the Pricing page or checkout states a different restriction for a specific plan or feature. You may not resell generated audio as a standalone voice product, voice dataset, or text-to-speech service.

2. Which voices you may use

Your own cloned voice may be used commercially without further permission from anyone, because it is yours. Library presets are derived from an openly licensed research speech corpus whose license permits commercial use; AltVoice handles the required attribution, and you do not need to credit the corpus in your output. Designed voices are synthetic and not modelled on a specific real person. No voice available in AltVoice may be presented as the voice of a real person other than yourself.

3. Scripts and other material remain your responsibility

A license to use generated output does not grant you rights to another person's likeness, performance, brand, music, script, or copyrighted material. You must have permission for the text and any other content you provide, and you are responsible for the context in which the audio is published.

4. Restricted uses

You may not use generated audio for deception, impersonation, fraudulent endorsements, illegal political manipulation, scams, non-consensual sexual content, or other uses prohibited by our Acceptable Use Policy, and you must disclose synthetic origin where required. You may not remove provenance markers from generated audio.

5. Client and team work

If you produce audio for clients or teams, you are responsible for obtaining client approvals, brand permissions, and any required disclosures before distribution. Because only your own voice can be cloned, a client's voice or a hired performer's voice cannot be cloned through your account; use a library preset or a designed voice for those projects.

6. No exclusivity and no trademark license

Library presets, designed voices, models, workflows, and platform features are not exclusive to you. Other users may generate similar styles, tones, or audio characteristics. This license does not permit use of the AltVoice name or logo to endorse your product beyond a plain statement that audio was generated with AltVoice.

7. Changes

We may update this license for future generations. Changes do not withdraw the license for audio you already generated and used in compliance with the version in force at the time.
